Shirakoma Pond

Shirakoma Pond | Grand Mercure Yatsugatake Resort & Spa [Official]

A mysterious lake filled with Shimizu in the vast primeval forest of Kita-yatsugatake. It is Japan's largest natural lake as a lake above 2,100m above sea level, and is famous as a gateway to mountain climbing and trekking at Hidemine Yatsugatake. In the spring, snow can be seen even in May late, and staggered with pretty pink flowers inform the coming of spring, and children and the elderly can feel free to climb steep Takayama until late autumn when Nanakamado bears red fruits. You can see the transition of seasons woven by plants and nature. You can get to Shirakoma Pond in about 15 minutes on foot from the parking lot along National Route 299.
