Shirakoma-ike Pond

A mysterious lake filled with Shimizu in the vast primeval forest of Kita-yatsugatake. It is Japan's largest natural lake as a lake with an altitude of 2,100 meters or more, and is famous as a gateway to mountain climbing and trekking at Shuho Yatsugatake. In spring, snow can be seen in late May, and staggering with pretty pink flowers informs the arrival of late spring, and even late autumn when Nanakamado bears red fruits, children and the elderly can easily see the changing seasons of alpine plants and nature. You can walk to Shirakoma Pond in about 15 minutes from the parking lot along National Route 299.
