A mysterious lake full of Shimizu in the vast primeval forest of Kita Yatsugatake. It is Japan's largest natural lake as a lake with an altitude of 2,100m or more, and is famous as a gateway to climbing and trekking at Hidemine Yatsugatake. Spring is late in May, snow can be seen, and the wakagami with pretty pink flowers, informs you of the coming of spring, and it is easy to climb the steep Takayama until late autumn when rowan red fruits bear red fruits. You can see the changing seasons of seasonal plants and nature. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from the parking lot along National Route 299 to Shirakoma Pond.
