Cherry blossoms at Wanizuka
It is a single cherry tree standing on a mound, and is about 330 years old Edhiganzakura. It was designated as a natural monument of Nirasaki City in 1989. There are various theories, such as the theory that the name "Wanizuka" is derived from the theory that it is the tomb of Prince Takeda, the prince of Yamato Takeru, and the shape of the mound resembles a crocodile (a type of Buddhist tool). The appearance of blooming against the backdrop of the remaining snow Mount Fuji and Yatsugatake captivates visitors with dignified beauty. It is lit up at its best time, and you can enjoy a fantastic appearance that is a bit different from daytime.
